Once treatment is finished, the catheter is withdrawn. (Fig1)
 
The subcutaneous port is then removed by gripping a tab on the underside of the port with a forceps. (Fig2)
 
The port unravels and may be easily removed through the existing catheter exit site. (Fig3)
